Yet Another Weekday in Graduate School

I woke up at 7:30 AM in the morning after hitting snooze on my alarm for 30 minutes. This was in spite of the fact that I had kept two alarms. So effectively I was hitting snooze at 3 minute intervals. I must have cursed my phone 10 times. Then the snooze intervals and the alarms became part of my dream, which is actually the nightmare I’m living. The numbers on the clock turned to hex and the incremental snooze intervals became offsets.

I woke up. Roughly 4 hours of sleep. Felt like crap.

The day was spent rushing from one class to another. The time in between just enough to grab some lunch, a bit of  coffee and then some discussion on a proposal and presentation. A seminar in the evening, followed by yet another info session by a corporation.

You went to these sessions for the promise of free food. Not that because you don’t have food at home, just that free food is so much less of  a hassle. But free food comes at a cost. The cost being that of time. Time is valuable. Maybe more than free food. But then we are animals, so we choose food.

The info session lasted for an hour. Time to head home, but the day wasn’t over. I get a small break pedaling my cycle. But then as soon as I reach home, it’s back to the lab assignment.

The exercise which everyone else seems to have finished, I’m still stuck at. Am I not good enough? I never thought so. I hammer my head against the hex values, C code, memory layouts, and it’s still too hard (twss). I take a break. And type out this post.
